Dr. Erika Gonzalez

CEO/President

Dr. Erika Gonzalez is an internationally recognized Asthma Specialist with over 20 years of experience. A native of San Antonio, Dr. Gonzalez founded STAAMP Allergy, a health clinic that aims to bring healthcare equity to the community. She previously served as the Chair of the Allergy, Immunology, & Rheumatology Department at the Children’s Hospital of San Antonio. She has numerous medical publications and has been Principal Investigator on over 100 asthma and allergy clinical trials. Dr. Gonzalez served in the United States Air Force Medical Corp for 9 years and is an accomplished community leader in the local, state, and national level.

Dr. John Dice

Certified Asthma Specialist

Dr. Dice has over 25 years of experience in the field of asthma and allergic diseases. He served in the US Air Force managing respiratory conditions for our troops and then as a civilian providing similar care for asthma patients of all ages. As a Department of Defense respiratory expert, Dr. Dice specialized in the use of methacholine and exercise challenges for asthma diagnosis and evaluation of DoD criteria for asthma clearance. Currently he uses his expertise in the management of difficult cases and particularly in the use of advanced biologics for optimal care.

Dr. Joel Reyes

Pediatric Critical Care Specialist

Dr. Reyes is a board-certified pediatric intensivist who treats critically ill children, including life-threatening status asthmaticus. He served 12 years in the US Air Force, including deploying to Afghanistan where he treated US military members and Afghan children. As the CEO of STAAMP Research, he hopes to advance medical care and decrease the number of kids he has to see in the Pediatric ICU.

Dr. Pilar Diaz del Guante Pliego (IMG)

Clinical Research Coordinator & Physician Liaison

Dr. Pilar Diaz del Guante is the Physician Liaison at the Asthma Center of Excellence and STAAMP, with over five years of expertise in chronic care and healthcare management. A Medical Degree graduate from the University of Monterrey in Mexico, Pilar is dedicated to enriching patient experiences and building strong professional connections. She actively engages with referring physicians and health insurers, highlighting the center’s comprehensive asthma services and collaborating closely with the healthcare team to ensure seamless, high-quality patient care.
